STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the DTC.
Check if the DTC is set in ETACS-ECU.(1) caution | To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). |
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE)
."
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Check whether the ETACS-ECU related DTC is set.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the ETACS-ECU. Refer to . Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check data list.
STEP 3. Headlight relay (HI) check.
STEP 4. Voltage measurement at the headlight relay (HI) connector.
(1) Remove the headlight relay (HI), and measure at the relay box side.
(2) Measure the voltage between headlight relay (HI) connector (power supply terminal) and the body ground.OK: The voltage should measure approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5. Go to Step 6.
STEP 5. Check of open circuit in HHI line between ETACS-ECU connector and headlight relay (HI) connector.
STEP 6. Check of open circuit in power supply line between fusible link and headlight relay (HI) connector.
STEP 7. Retest the system.
