cautionWhen replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
When an open circuit or short to ground is detected in the keyless operation antenna (Front: Outer side) (built in front door outside handle (RH)), the DTC is set.
 
 
JUDGMENT CRITERIA
When an open circuit or short to ground is detected five times consecutively when the keyless operation antenna (Front: Outer side) (built in front door outside handle (RH)) transmits a radio wave.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the keyless operation antenna (Front: Outer side) (built in front door outside handle (RH))
  • Malfunction of the KOS&OSS-ECU
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check of short to ground or open circuit in EASP, EASG line between the front door outside handle (RH) connector and the KOS&OSS-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the wiring harness.
 
STEP 2. Keyless operation system communication test.
Check that the communication with the keyless operation antenna (Front: Outer side) is normal (Refer to Antenna Communication Test ).
  • PS side antenna(outdoor)
OK: Normal is displayed.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the front door outside handle (RH) (Refer to GROUP 42A - Door Handle and Latch ).
 
STEP 3. Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Engine switch: "OFF"
(3) Close all the doors and press the passenger's door lock/unlock switch to lock and unlock the door several times.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace KOS&OSS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
