DTC U119A VIN mismatch
 
 
caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
OPERATION
VIN is written in the EPS-ECU.
 
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
  • Engine start
Judgment Criterion
  • When VIN written in the EPS-ECU is different from VIN information sent from CAN communication
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
  • The EPS-ECU sets DTC U119A.
 
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of CAN bus line
  • VIN not programmed
  • Malfunction of the EPS-ECU
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
Diagnose the CAN bus line.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN-Related Diagnosis Code Table ).
 
STEP 2. VIN consistency check.
Check if the VIN and the Chassis No. registered in ECM are different.
Is the check result normal?
Register the correct VIN in EPS-ECU, and then go to Step 3.
Register the correct VIN in EPS-ECU, and ECM and then go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running).
Is the DTC set?
Replace the EPS motor (EPS-ECU). (Refer to ).
This diagnosis is complete.
