DTC C1567 Invalid data received for vehicle speed (CRC)
DTC C1568 Invalid data received for vehicle speed (message counter)

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

OPERATION
The EPS-ECU in the vehicle speed information (including error detection signal) from the ASC-ECU.

FUNCTION
The EPS-ECU controls the driving force of the motor based on the vehicle speed information from the ASC-ECU.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
  • Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running).
Judgment Criterion
  • The EPS-ECU judged the error detection signal of the vehicle speed information to be abnormal.
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
  • The EPS-ECU turns on the electric power steering warning lamp, and sets DTC No.C1567 or C1568.
  • Since the assist force is calculated according to the vehicle speed, the assist is continued, but the assist force may be different from the usual time.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of CAN bus line
  • Malfunction of the ASC-ECU
  • Malfunction of the EPS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
Diagnose the CAN bus line.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN-Related Diagnosis Code Table ).

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
(3) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running). Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the hydraulic unit (integrated with ASC-ECU) (Refer to GROUP 35C - Hydraulic Unit ) and then go to Step 3.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the DTC code.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
(3) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running).
Is the DTC set?
Replace the EPS motor (EPS-ECU). (Refer to ).
This diagnosis is complete.
