DTC C1537 IG signal failure
 
 
caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
OPERATION
The EPS-ECU receives IG1 signal and it is used as a switch that activates/deactivate the EPS-ECU.
 
 
 
FUNCTION
The EPS-ECU monitors the IG voltage.
 
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
  • Engine start
Judgment Criterion
  • When judging that the ignition key has been turned OFF during traveling
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
  • When the failure is confirmed, sets the DTC and continues the assist control until the vehicle stops.
 
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
cautionThis DTC is also set even when the driver intentionally turns off the ignition switch while driving. In this case, it is not an abnormality of parts and there is no need to replace parts.
  • When the driver intentionally turns off ignition switch while driving.
  • Defective harness wire(s) or connector(s)
  • Open circuit between the EPS-ECU and ignition switch or loose connector contact
  • Malfunction of the EPS-ECU
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
1. Check if other ECU sets DTC.
2. Check whether there is abnormality in the power supply circuit of Ignition system (Refer to GROUP 54A - Ignition Switch <Vehicles without KOS>, GROUP 42B - Symptom Chart <Vehicles with KOS>).
