DTC C1707: Implausible Coding Data

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
  • When DTC C1707 is set in the AWC-ECU, a DTC may also be set in the ETACS-ECU. When the DTC is set in ETACS-ECU, perform the diagnosis of the DTC for ETACS-ECU first.

OPERATION
AWC-ECU receives the vehicle information stored in ETACS-ECU via CAN bus lines.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
This DTC will be set when the vehicle information received from the ETACS-ECU is invalid.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
  • The ETACS-ECU, which was used on another vehicle, is installed on this vehicle.
  • The AWC-ECU, which was used on another vehicle, is installed on this vehicle.
  • Malfunction of AWC-ECU
  • Noise interference

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) CAN bus diagnostics.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - Diagnosis, Can Bus Diagnostics Table ).

STEP 2. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) other system DTC.
Check if the ETACS DTC is set (Refer to GROUP 54A - Diagnosis, Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ).
Is the DTC set?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. ETACS-ECU coding data check
Use the scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to check whether the coding data stored in the ETACS-ECU is correct.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS-ECU ).

STEP 4. Check a part number of the AWC-ECU.
Check a part number of AWC-ECU.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to ).

STEP 5. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC C1707 set?
Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
