STEP 2. Check the side impact sensor (front).
(1) Check that the negative battery terminal is disconnected. If the negative battery terminal is connected, disconnect it.
(2) A side impact sensor is checked in the following way.- Replace the side impact sensor (front: RH) {In case of DTC B1426 (Regardless of "Active" or "Stored" faults)} with the new part
- Replace the side impact sensor (front: LH) {In case of DTC B1436 (Regardless of "Active" or "Stored" faults)} with the new part
(3) Connect the negative battery terminal.
(4) After erasing the DTC memory, check the diagnostic trouble code again.
(5) Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Is DTC B1426 or B1436 stored?
Go to Step 3. There is an intermittent malfunction such as poor engaged connector(s) or open circuit (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
