DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION

ASC-ECU has the following functions for easier system checks.
  • Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) set (Refer to ).
  • Service data output (Refer to ).
  • Actuator test (Refer to ).
  • Freeze frame data output (Refer to ).
All the above items can be diagnosed using scan tool (M.U.T.-III).

ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS
If the ASC-ECU detects any problem in the CAN communication line or the ECUs, which the ASC-ECU is communicating with, it sets a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). The DTCs can be confirmed by connecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III). The set DTCs are not erased even after the ignition switch has been turned to the "LOCK" (OFF) position, or the battery has been disconnected. The DTCs can be erased by operating scan tool (M.U.T.-III).

CHECK OF FREEZE FRAME DATA
The freeze frame data can be checked by using the scan tool (M.U.T.-III).

When detecting fault and storing the DTC, the ECU connected to CAN bus line obtains the data before the determination of the DTC and the data when the DTC is determined, and then stores the ECU status of that time. By analyzing each data from scan tool (M.U.T.-III), the troubleshooting can be performed more efficiently. The displayed items are as the table below.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTIONS
  • When a malfunction is determined by the diagnostic function, ASC-ECU illuminates the brake warning light, ABS warning light, ASC indicator light, and ASC OFF indicator light. At the same time, ASC-ECU prohibits the ABS, EBD, stability control, and TCL.
noteThe brake warning light is used as the EBD control warning light.
