STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check actuator test item 17: Oil Feeder Control Valve.
STEP 2. Check the oil feeder control valve.
(1) Disconnect the oil feeder control valve connector, and measure at oil feeder control valve side.
(2) Measure the resistance between oil feeder control valve side connector terminals.Standard value: 6.9 - 7.9 Ω [at 20°C (68°F)]
Is the measured resistance between 6.9 and 7.9 Ω [at 20°C (68°F)]?
Go to Step 3. Replace the oil feeder control valve. Then go to Step 8.
STEP 3. Measure the power supply voltage at oil feeder control valve harness side connector.
(1) Disconnect the connector and measure at the harness side.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Measure the voltage between terminal OCV line and ground.- Voltage should be battery positive voltage.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is battery positive voltage (approximately 12 volts) present?
Go to Step 4. Repair or replace the connector(s), or check and repair the harness of open circuit, and short circuit in power supply line between MFI relay connector and oil control valve connector. Then go to Step 8.
STEP 4. Measure the power supply voltage at ECM connector by backprobing.
(1) Do not disconnect the connector.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Measure the voltage between terminal OCV and ground by backprobing.- Voltage should be battery positive voltage.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is battery positive voltage (approximately 12 volts) present?
Go to Step 5. Repair or replace the connector(s), or check and repair the harness of open circuit, and damage in OCV line between oil control valve connector and ECM connector. Then go to Step 8.
STEP 5. Check of damage in power supply line between MFI relay connector and oil feeder control valve connector.
STEP 6. Check of damage in OCV line between oil feeder control valve connector and ECM connector.
STEP 7. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check actuator test item 17: Oil Feeder Control Valve.
STEP 8. Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 19 . (2) Check the diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
Is DTC P0010 set?
Retry the troubleshooting. The inspection is complete.
