STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list item 53: Fuel Tank Temperature Sensor.
STEP 2. Check the fuel tank temperature sensor.
(1) Disconnect the fuel pump module connector.
(2) Measure the resistance between terminal F/TM line and terminal ground line of the fuel pump module.Standard value: 0.43 - 12.3 kΩ [at -10 to 70 °C (14 to 158 °F)]
Is the measured resistance between 0.43 and 12.3 kΩ?
Go to Step 3. Replace the fuel pump module. Then go to Step 6.
STEP 3. Check the continuity at fuel pump module harness side connector.
STEP 4. Check of harness damage in F/TM line between fuel pump module connector and ECM connector.
STEP 5. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list item 53: Fuel Tank Temperature Sensor.
STEP 6. Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 13 . (2) Check the diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
