REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
warningBe sure to check precautions and notes by referring to PRECAUTIONS for SRS AIRBAG (Refer to Precaution for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) "AIR BAG" and "SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER") and Removal and Installation of DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE (Refer to Removal and Installation) and SPIRAL CABLE (Refer to Removal and Installation) in the before work.
cautionAfter the installation, perform a steering torque sensor calibration (Refer to Work Procedure).

<<A>> STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY REMOVAL
1.
cautionUse the special tool to remove the steering wheel since the steering column collision adsorbing mechanism may be damaged.
Position the steering wheel in a straight ahead position.
2. Do not remove the steering wheel bolt. Only loosen the bolt.
3. Install the special tool steering wheel puller (MB990803) to the steering wheel assembly.
4. In order to avoid damage to the steering wheel bolt, insert a washer between the steering wheel bolt and the bolt of the special tool steering wheel puller (MB990803). Then, tighten the bolt of the special tool steering wheel puller (MB990803) and remove the steering wheel assembly.
