Diagnosis Procedure
1.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS (1)
M.U.T.-III SE
Using the M.U.T.-III SE, execute “Self-diagnosis” for “EBA”.
Is only the DTC "C18F9-02" detected? Or Are only the DTCs "C18EA-01" and "C18F9-02" detected?
-1When the DTC "C18EA-01" and other DTCs are detected: Troubleshoot the detected DTCs.
-2When no DTC is detected: The procedure is complete.
 
2.Check of brake system warning light
  1. After the electric motor switch is turned OFF, disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector, then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle with the auto ACC function turned OFF.
  2. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
Does the brake system warning light illuminates?
INSPECTION END
 
3.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS FOR "ABS"
M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Using the M.U.T.-III SE, erase the DTC set in the "ABS".
  2. Using the M.U.T.-III SE, execute “Self-diagnosis” for “ABS”.
Is DTC detected?
Troubleshoot the detected DTCs.
 
4.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS (2)
M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  2. Erase the DTC set in "EBA".
  3. Disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector after turning OFF the electric motor switch to turn off the auto ACC function. Then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle.
  4. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  5. Execute “Self-diagnosis” for “EBA”.
Is only the DTC "C18F9-02" detected? Or Are only the DTCs "C18EA-01" and "C18F9-02" detected?
-1When only DTC "C18F9-02" is detected:
-2When the DTC "C18EA-01" and other DTCs are detected: Troubleshoot the detected DTCs.
-3When no DTC is detected: The procedure is complete.
 
5.Check of brake system warning light
M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector after turning OFF the electric motor switch to turn off the auto ACC function. Then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle.
  2. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
Does the brake system warning light illuminates?
INSPECTION END
 
6.CHECK 12V BATTERY
  1. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
  2. Close all the doors (excluding back door), and disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector after turning OFF the electric motor switch to turn OFF the auto ACC function. Then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle.
  3. Check the connection of the 12V battery terminal (Refer to Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal or Work Flow).
  4. Check the 12V batteryRefer to Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal.
Is the inspection result normal?
Repair or replace the faulty part.
 
7.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS (3)
M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Connect the 12V battery terminal.
  2. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  3. Erase the DTC set in "EBA".
  4. Disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector after turning OFF the electric motor switch to turn off the auto ACC function. Then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle.
  5. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  6. Using the M.U.T.-IIISE, execute “Self-diagnosis” for “EBA”.
Is the DTCs "C18EA-01" and "C18F9-02" detected?
-1When only DTC "C18F9-02" is detected:
-2When the DTC "C18EA-01" and other DTCs are detected: Troubleshoot the detected DTCs.
-3When no DTC is detected: The procedure is complete.
 
8.Check of brake system warning light
  1. After the electric motor switch is turned OFF, disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector, then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle with the auto ACC function turned OFF.
  2. Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal.
Does the brake system warning light illuminates?
INSPECTION END
 
9.CHECK CONNECTOR TERMINAL
  1. After the electric motor switch is turned OFF, disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector, then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle with the auto ACC function turned OFF.
  2. Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal.
  3. Disconnect the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector, and check that the terminal and its connection is normal.
Is the inspection result normal?
Repair or replace the harness, connector or terminal.
 
10.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS (3)
M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Connect the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector.
  2. Connect the 12V battery negative terminal.
  3. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
  4. Disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector after turning OFF the electric motor switch to turn off the auto ACC function. Then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle.
  5. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  6. Erase the DTC set in "EBA".
  7. After the electric motor switch is turned OFF, disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector, then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle with the auto ACC function turned OFF.
  8. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
    cautionDo not set the vehicle to the READY status.
  9. Execute “Self-diagnosis” for “EBA”.
Is the DTCs "C18EA-01" and "C18F9-02" detected?
-1When only DTC "C18F9-02" is detected:
-2When the DTC "C18EA-01" and other DTCs are detected: Troubleshoot the detected DTCs.
-3When no DTC is detected: The procedure is complete.
 
11.Check of brake system warning light
  1. After the electric motor switch is turned OFF, disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector, then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle with the auto ACC function turned OFF.
  2. Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal.
Does the brake system warning light illuminates?
INSPECTION END
 
12.CHECK THE ELECTRIC DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
  1. After the electric motor switch is turned OFF, disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector, then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle with the auto ACC function turned OFF.
  2. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  3. Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal.
  4. Disconnect the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector.
  5. Check the power supply and ground circuits or the electric driven intelligent brake unit.
Is the inspection result normal?
-1Repair / replace harness, connector, terminal, fuse, or fusible link.
 
13.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS (4)
M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector after turning OFF the electric motor switch to turn off the auto ACC function. Then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle.
  2. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  3. Erase the DTC set in "EBA".
  4. After the electric motor switch is turned OFF, disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector, then wait for 1 minute or more without touching the vehicle with the auto ACC function turned OFF.
  5. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: ON)
  6. Execute “Self-diagnosis” for “EBA”.
Is DTC "C18F9-02" detected?
-1When only DTC "C18F9-02" is detected: Replace the electric driven intelligent brake unit (Refer to Removal and installation).
-2When DTC other than "C18F9-02" is detected: Troubleshoot the detected DTCs.
