DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
1.Check of the normal charging cable.
Check the normal charging cable (Refer to CHARGING CABLE CHECK).
Is the check result normal?
Replace the normal charging cable.

2.Check of open circuit between On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter and normal charge port connector (GND line).
Check the following wiring harness for open circuit.
  • Open circuit between On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter connector (GND terminal) and normal charge port connector.
  • Open circuit between On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter connector (GND terminal) and body ground.
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness, or replace the EV home & quick charger cable.

3.Voltage measurement at On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter (pilot signal line).
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: OFF).
(3) Measure the voltage between the following terminals.
  • Voltage between On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter connector (No. 11 terminal) and body ground.
OK: 1 V or less
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness, or replace the EV home & quick charger cable.

4.Check of short to ground circuit and open circuit between On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter and normal charge port connector (pilot signal line).
Check the following wiring harness for short to ground circuit and open circuit.
  • Short to ground circuit and open circuit between On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter connector (No. 11 terminal) and normal charge port connector (No. 3 terminal).
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness, or replace the EV home & quick charger cable.

5.Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the set DTC.
(2) Charge the drive battery by using the normal charging cable other than the defective one.
(3) Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the normal charging cable.

6.Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the set DTC.
(2) Charge the drive battery by using the external power supply equipment other than the defective one.
(3) Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Repalce the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter (Refer to ON BOARD CHARGER (OBC) &DC-DC CONVERTER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
Ask the user to inspect the external power supply equipment.
