AIR LEAK CHECK
Required Special Tools:
  • MB993042: Drive battery air leak check tool
1. Remove the breather cap (Refer to BATTERY TRAY COVER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
2. Set the following special tool to the installation hole for the breather cap.
  • Drive battery air leak check tool (MB993042)
    • a: Gauge
    • b: Pump
3. Install the service plug.
4. Block the battery control wiring harness connector so that the air does no come out.
5. After applying the pressure of 1.6 kPa (0.23 psi), close the hand valve between the pump and attachment, and wait for 60 seconds.
6. After 60 seconds have passed, check that the maintained pressure is specified value or more. After checking the pressure, remove the service plug immediately.
Specified value: 1.4 kPa (0.20 psi) or more
7. If the maintained pressure after 60 seconds has passed is less than the specified value, install the battery tray cover again.
