DTC No. P0C6F-00 Temperature Difference 2-4 Diagnosis

DTC SET CONDITION
Check Condition
  • During the BMU operation
Judgment Criterion
  • The large detection temperature difference between the battery module temperature sensor No. 2 and battery module temperature sensor No. 4 is detected.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of the drive battery (battery module temperature sensor Nos. 2 and 4)
  • Malfunction of the BMU

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
1.Check of continuity at drive battery connector (control wiring harness connector) (Battery module temperature sensor No. 2, 4 shield line)
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Check the following for continuity.
  • Continuity between the drive battery connector (control wiring harness connector) (terminal No. 23) and body ground
  • Continuity between the drive battery connector (control wiring harness connector) (terminal No. 29) and body ground
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

2.Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the DTC set in the BMU2.
(2) Erase the DTC set in the BMU.
(3) Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: ON).
(4) Wait for 10 seconds or more.
(5) Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).

3.Drive battery control wiring harness check (Battery module temperature sensor No. 2, No. 4 signal line)
(1) Disassemble the drive battery (Refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE).
(2) Check the following wiring harness for short to ground circuit and open circuit.
  • Between the battery module temperature sensor No. 2 connector (terminal No. 2) and BMU connector (terminal No. 36)
  • Between the battery module temperature sensor No. 4 connector (terminal No. 1) and BMU connector (terminal No. 38)
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

4.Drive battery control wiring harness check (Battery module temperature sensor No. 2, No. 4 ground line)
Check the following wiring harness for open circuit.
  • Between the battery module temperature sensor No. 2 connector (terminal No. 1) and BMU connector (terminal No. 32)
  • Between the battery module temperature sensor No. 4 connector (terminal No. 2) and BMU connector (terminal No. 34)
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

5.Drive battery control wiring harness check (Battery module temperature sensor No. 2, No. 4 shield line)
Check the following wiring harness for open circuit.
  • Between the battery module temperature sensor No. 2 connector (terminal No. 3) and drive battery connector (control wiring harness connector) (terminal No. 23)
  • Between the battery module temperature sensor No. 4 connector (terminal No. 3) and drive battery connector (control wiring harness connector) (terminal No. 29)
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

6.Battery module temperature sensor No. 2 and No. 4 check
Check the battery module temperature sensor No. 2 and No. 4 (Refer to BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR CHECK).
Is the check result normal?
Replace the faulty battery module temperature sensor (Refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE).
