DTC No. U214F-57 Lost Communication With BCM
 
 
 
 
DTC SET CONDITION
Check Condition
  • The IGCT power supply is ON.
Judgment Criterion
  • THE MAC KEY authentication error in the CAN signal from the BCM is detected.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the BCM
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
1.M.U.T.-IIISE other system DTC
Check whether the other systems (chassis control module, ADAS control unit 2, sonar control unit, around view monitor control unit, etc.) set the following DTCs.
  • DTC No. U214F-57 Lost Communication With BCM
  • DTC No. U234F-57 CAN comm err (BCM) <Around view monitor control unit>
  • DTC No. U244F-57 CAN comm err (BCM) <ADAS control unit 2>
Are the DTCs set?
Using M.U.T.-IIISE, perform the MAC KEY writing for the BCM. Then,
 
2.Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the BCM (Refer to Body Control System - BCM Removal and Installation).
The procedure is complete.
 
3.Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to PHEV-ECU REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).
