DTC No. P1805-9F Brake Pedal Switch (OFF Failure)
 
 
 
 
DTC SET CONDITION
Check Condition
  • All of the following conditions are met.
    • The power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON.
    • The selector position is in a position other than P or N.
Judgment Criterion
  • The brake switch signal, which is received from the BCM via CAN communication, is detected to be stuck OFF (no brake operation) for 10 hours or more.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the BCM system
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
1.M.U.T.-IIISE other system DTC
Check whether the BCM sets the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTC (Refer to Body Control System - DTC Index DTC Index).
 
2.M.U.T.-IIISE data list
Check the following PHEV-ECU data list.
  • Item No. 2170: Brake switch information status from BCM
Check conditionNormal condition
Brake pedal depressedON
Other than aboveOFF
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).
Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to PHEV-ECU REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
