ENGINE COOLANT LEAK CHECK
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the bolts and clips, and remove the front B engine compartment under cover B (A) .
3. Remove the clips (A), and remove the two under covers.
caution | When inspecting while idling, do so with the vehicle into continuous idling mode and fully warmed. (Refer to CONTINUOUS IDLING MODE) |
4. Inspect to see that there is no leakage from the points below while idling or while pressurizing with the special tool radiator cap tester (MB992193).- Radiator
- Water pump
- At hose joints
5. Inspect to see that there is no hose damage or deterioration, and that the hose clamps are not loose.
6. In the event that there are traces of coolant drainage around the drain hole, vapor hole, or the mounting surface even when the water pump is normal, inspect for leaks from the water pump.
