CONTINUOUS IDLING MODE
The continuous idling mode is a mode that the engine is forcibly started for a case such as vehicle inspection. The continuous idling mode can be activated by the following procedures.

  • When the continuous idling mode is activated, "SAVE" is displayed in the combination meter.
  • Racing is possible only when the remaining drive battery level is 84% or less, and the temperature of the drive battery is 0°C (32°F) or more. The remaining drive battery level can be checked by the PHEV-ECU data list item No. 2600 "State of charge for control", and the temperature can be checked by the item No. 2300 "Battery cell minimum Temperature". If the remaining drive battery level is 20% or less, the electrical load for power generation increases. When the temperature of the drive battery is low, the temperature can be increased by the charging with the battery charge mode or on board charger.
 
 
<When using M.U.T.-IIISE>
  1. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: OFF).
  2. Using the M.U.T.-IIISE, select the following special function item of the PHEV-ECU.
    • Item No. 50: Maintenance mode
  3. Select "Emission test" in "Mode Select" field, then execute it.
  4. After checking that "SAVE" (battery save mode) is displayed in the combination meter, change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: ON) to activate the continuous idling mode.
  5. Using the M.U.T.-IIISE, select the following special function item of the PHEV-ECU to end the continuous idling mode.
    • Item No. 51: Maintenance mode (stop)
 
 
<When not using M.U.T.-IIISE>
  1. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: OFF).
  2. cautionComplete the following operation within 30 seconds. When you fail the operation, change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then do it again from the first step.
    Complete the following operation within 30 seconds.
    1. Depress the accelerator pedal 2 times.
    2. Change the selector position to N from P with the brake pedal depressed, then release the brake pedal.
    3. Depress the accelerator pedal 2 times.
    4. Change the selector position to P from N with the brake pedal depressed, then release the brake pedal.
    5. Depress the accelerator pedal 2 times.
  3. After checking that "SAVE" (battery save mode) is displayed in the combination meter, change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: ON) to activate the continuous idling mode.
  4. Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF to end the continuous idling mode.
