Removal and Installation
 
 
REMOVAL
 
 
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Refer to Exploded View.
2. Remove shift actuator. Refer to Removal and Installation.
3. Disconnect the harness connector from the transmission range switch.
4. Remove bolts from transmission range switch.
5. Remove transmission range switch.
 
 
INSTALLATION
cautionNote the following when the shift actuator is removed while the range is in the P position, and installed while the range is in the N position:
  • Never use remote engine start system immediately after installing shift actuator.
  • Adjust to P range after pressing P switch without operating shift selector after ignition switch ON.
  • Unless the above points are performed, the electric shift control module will not accept the request from the shift lever.
 
 
1. Install transmission range switch to transaxle assembly.
cautionNever reuse transmission range switch.
2. Install Tool (A) over manual lever and into alignment hole on transmission range switch .
Tool number: KV381100S0 (J-52508)
3. Tighten bolts to the specified torque with Tool (A) installed.
Tool number: KV381100S0 (J-52508)
4. Remove Tool.
Tool number: KV381100S0 (J-52508)
5. The remainder of installation is in the reverse order of removal.
6. Perform inspection after installation. Refer to Inspection.
