Work Procedure
cautionWhen replacing TCM together with transaxle assembly, perform “ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING TCM AND TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY”. Refer to Description.
noteBefore starting, make sure:
  • ASIST on the M.U.T.-III SE has been synchronized to the current date.
  • All M.U.T.-III SE software updates (if any) have been installed.
1.SAVE CALIBRATION DATA (IP CHARACTERISTICS VALUE)
noteSave necessary data stored in TCM in M.U.T.-III SE according to the following instructions:
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. The ignition switch is OFF and wait for 10 seconds.
  2. The ignition switch is ON.
  3. Connect M.U.T.-III SE.
  4. Select “Special Function” in “TRANSMISSION”.
  5. Select “READ IP CHARA - REPLACEMENT TCM” of “IP characteristics data writing”.
  6. Touch “OK”.
    noteWhen the calibration data has been saved to the M.U.T.-III SE, the message “Completed” will be displayed.

2.REPLACE TCM
  1. The ignition switch is OFF.
  2. Replace the TCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

3.PERFORM TCM PROGRAMMING
With M.U.T.-III SE
Perform TCM programming according to the procedure of “Programming” in M.U.T.-III SE Operation Manual. Refer to M.U.T.-III SE Operation Manual.
cautionDuring programming, maintain the following conditions:
  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Electric load: OFF
  • Brake pedal: Not depressed
  • Battery voltage: 12 – 13.5 V (Be sure to check the value of battery voltage by selecting “BATTERY VOLT” in “Data monitor” of M.U.T.-III SE.)

4.WRITE MAC KEY
Perform MAC key writing, Refer to Description.

5.WRITE CALIBRATION DATA (IP CHARACTERISTICS VALUE)
noteWrite data saved in M.U.T.-III SE into a new TCM according to the following instructions:
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Verify vehicle is in “Park” (P), then the ignition switch is OFF and wait for 10 seconds.
  2. The ignition switch is ON.
  3. Select “Special Function” in “TRANSMISSION”.
  4. Select “WRITE IP CHARA - REPLACEMENT TCM” of “IP characteristics data writing”.
  5. Touch “OK”.
    noteWhen the calibration data has been written to the TCM, the message “Completed” will be displayed.

6.PERFORM G-SENSOR CALIBRATION
Perform G-sensor Calibration. Refer to DescriptionDescription.

7.PERFORM CLUTCH POINT LEARNING
Perform Clutch Point Learning. Refer to DescriptionDescription.

8.PERFORM SELECT LEARNING (DRIVE/REVERSE LEARNING)
noteAlways perform Clutch Point Learning before Select Learning.
  1. Perform Select Learning. Refer to Work ProcedureWork Procedure.
  2. Clear any DTCs that may have set and then test drive the vehicle.
