Possible Cause
  • Harness or connectors
    • Exhaust camshaft position sensor circuit is open or shorted.
    • Sensor power supply 1 circuit is shorted.
  • Exhaust camshaft position sensor
  • Exhaust camshaft
  • Starter motor
  • Starting circuit
  • Battery deterioration
  • Sensor power supply 1 circuit sensors

FAIL-SAFE
Engine operating condition in fail-safe mode
Fail safe modeVehicle behavior
Device fix mode
  • This mode fixes the electric IVT motor and the EVT control solenoid valve in the reference position.
  • The intake manifold runner control valve motor is turned OFF (intake manifold runner control valve opens).
  • A control signals is not transmitted to EGR volume control valve and the EGR volume control is deactivated.

DTC Confirmation Procedure
1.CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P0365 is displayed with DTC P06B0, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P06B0.
Is applicable DTC detected?
Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description.
.

2.PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
  2. Turn ignition switch ON.
  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
TESTING CONDITION:
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 10.5 V at idling.
: .

3.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1
  1. Start engine and let it idle for at least 5 seconds.
If engine does not start, crank engine for at least 2 seconds.
  2. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
.

4.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2
  1. Keep the engine speed at more than 800 rpm for at least 5 seconds.
  2. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
-1To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent IncidentIntermittent Incident.
-2Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
