DTC detection condition
P18A800P POSITION SWITCH
(P Position Switch Error)
1Diagnosis conditionWhen the Ignition switch is ON
Signal (terminal)P position switch No. 1 and No. 2 signal
ThresholdP position switches No. 1 and No. 2 are stuck at ON or OFF.
Diagnosis delay time—

POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Harness or connectors (P position switch No. 1 and No. 2 circuits are open or shorted.)
  • P position switch
 
 
FAIL-SAFE
Pushing the P position switch does not switch to the P position
 
 
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.PRECONDITIONING
If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously conducted, always ignition switch OFF and wait at least 60 seconds before conducting the next test.

2.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE - 1
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. The ignition switch is ON.
  2. Press the P position switch to shift to P position and wait for 5 seconds or more. (Be sure to press the P position switch for 1 seconds or more.).
  3. Check DTC.
Is “P18A8-00 detected?
Go to Diagnosis ProcedureDTC Diagnosis Procedure.

3.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE - 2
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Release the P position switch and wait for 5 minutes or more.
  2. Check DTC.
Is “P18A8-00 detected?
