STEP 2. Check ETACS-ECU connector C-413, C-416, luggage compartment light connector D-11, vanity mirror light (RH) connector E-01, rear dome light connector E-04, vanity mirror light (LH) connector E-05, front dome light connector E-09 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.
STEP 5. Using scan tool MB991958, check whether the DTC is set again.
Check again if DTC No.B1E1D is set in the ETACS-ECU.(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn on the corresponding light.
(3) Check if DTC No.B1E1D is set.
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 6. The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
STEP 6. Using scan tool MB991958, check whether the DTC is set again.
Check again if DTC No.B1E1D is set in the ETACS-ECU.(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Disconnect connector (a).- front dome light body
- rear dome light body <Vehicles without panorama roof>
- Luggage compartment light body
- sun visor
(3) Turn on the corresponding light.
(4) Check if DTC No.B1E1D is set.
(5) Repeat steps (1) to (4) for parts (b) to (d) to determine a fault cause.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU. Replace a defective bulb (the front dome light body, the rear dome light body, the luggage compartment light body or the sun visor).
