DTC B2352: Antenna fail

cautionWhen replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

DTC SET CONDITION
If an open circuit or short to ground occurs in the key slot, KOS-ECU sets the DTC B2352.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
When the power supply mode of the engine switch is turned ON with the keyless operation key (with discharged battery) inserted in the key slot or with the driver's door kept open, KOS-ECU sends the signal to the key slot. The key slot transmits random numbers to the keyless operation key when it receives signals from KOS-ECU. At this time, if an open circuit or short to ground occurs in the wiring harness between KOS-ECU and key slot, KOS-ECU determines that a problem has occurred.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the key slot
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of KOS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check key slot connector C-116 and KOS-ECU connector C-10 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.
Is the key slot connector C-116 and KOS-ECU connector C-10 in good condition?
Go to Step 2.
Repair or replace the damaged component(s). Refer to GROUP 00E, Harness Connector Inspection .

STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between the key slot connector C-116 (terminal No. 1, 2) and the KOS-ECU connector C-10 (terminal No. 1, 9).
  • Check the signal lines for open circuit and short circuit.
noteAlso check joint connector (3) C-102 for loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. If joint connector (3) C-102 is damaged, repair or replace the damaged component(s) as described in GROUP 00E, Harness Connector Inspection .
Is the wiring harness between key slot connector C-116 (terminal No. 1, 2) and the KOS-ECU connector C-10 (terminal No. 1, 9) in good condition?
Go to Step 3.
The wiring harness may be damaged or the connector(s) may have loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. Repair the wiring harness as necessary.

STEP 3. Replace the key slot, and check whether the diagnostic trouble code is reset.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958.
Connect scan tool MB991958. Refer to "How to connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
The procedure is complete.
