HOW TO READ AND ERASE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
Required Special Tools:
- MB991958: Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: V.C.I.
- MB991827: M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910: M.U.T.-III Main Harness A
1. caution | To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958. |
caution | - When the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) of the transaxle control module (TCM) is erased, the DTC of the engine control module (ECM) is also erased at the same time.
- If DTC (U0001) of the Malfunction of CAN communication circuit (Bus off) or DTC (U0100) of the CAN time-out error (Engine) is set as a current trouble to the TCM, CAN bus diagnosis or troubleshooting each DTC should be carried out since the DTC of TCM will not be erased.

note | If the battery voltage is low, diagnostic trouble codes will not be set. Check the battery if scan tool MB991958 does not display. |
Connect scan tool MB991958 to the data link connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
3. Select "System select" from the start-up screen.
4. Select "From 06 MY."
5. Make sure vehicle information is correct.
6. Select "AT/CVT/A-MT/TC-SST."
7. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Code" to read the DTC.
8. If a DTC is set, it is shown.
9. Choose "Erase DTCs" to erase the DTC.
