REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Pre-removal and post-installation operation
  • Liftgate upper trim removal and installation (Refer to GROUP 52A, Liftgate Trim .)
  • Rear washer hose (Liftgate side) connector connection removal and installation (Refer to Rear wiper and washer ).
  • High-mount stop light connector connection removal and installation

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS
 
 
>>A<< LIFTGATE SPOILER SIDE GASKET C INSTALLATION
1. Use a part cleaner to degrease the liftgate spoiler side gasket C attaching surface at the liftgate spoiler assembly side.
2.
caution
  • The ambient temperature should be 20 to 38°C (68 to 100°F). Ensure that the working area is clean.
  • If the ambient temperature is less than 20°C (68°F), heat the liftgate spoiler side gasket C and the liftgate spoiler side gasket C attaching surface at the liftgate spoiler assembly side up to 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F).
Pull off backing strips from the liftgate spoiler side gasket C, and adhere the gasket along the base line.
 

 
 
>>B<< LIFTGATE SPOILER SIDE GASKET B INSTALLATION
1. Use a part cleaner to degrease the liftgate spoiler side gasket B attaching surface at the liftgate spoiler assembly side.

caution
  • The ambient temperature should be 20 to 38°C (68 to 100°F). Ensure that the working area is clean.
  • If the ambient temperature is less than 20°C (68°F), heat the liftgate spoiler side gasket B and the liftgate spoiler side gasket B attaching surface at the liftgate spoiler assembly side up to 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F).
Pull off backing strips from the liftgate spoiler side gasket B. If the base line is scribed adhere the liftgate spoiler side gasket B along the base line on the liftgate spoiler assembly. If the base line is not scribed, adhere the gasket according to the dimensions below.
 

 
 
>>C<< LIFTGATE SPOILER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
1. Use a rag moistened with white gasoline to clean and degrease the installation surface.
2. Apply the specified primer to the double-sided tape application position, and dry it well.
Primer: 3M K500
Drying time Approximately 15 minutes at 0°C (32°F), approximately 10 minutes at 25°C (77°F).
3. Tear off the double-sided tape backing paper.
noteIf the adhesive tape is attached to the edge of the backing paper, it will be easy to tear off.
4. Install the liftgate spoiler assembly.
noteIf the double-sided tape is difficult to affix in cold temperature, etc., warm the bonding surfaces before affixing the tape.
Body: 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
liftgate spoiler assembly: 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
5. Adhere the liftgate spoiler assembly securely.
