DTC B1191 BLOWER MOTOR VOLTAGE ERROR
 
 
 
 
DTC SET CONDITION
DTC No. B1191 will be set when the voltage abnormality signal is received from the blower motor.
 
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the blower motor power circuit
  • Malfunction of the blower motor
  • Malfunction of the blower motor relay
  • Malfunction of the A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU)
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Measure the voltage between blower motor connector terminal M+ by backprobing.
(1) Voltage between blower motor terminal M+ and body ground.
(2) Electric motor switch: ON
OK: System voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Check of damage in blower motor line between M+ connector terminal and ETACS-ECU.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 3. Check the blower motor relay.
Refer to GROUP 00E - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - Relay Check .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4..
Replace the blower motor relay.
 
STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set.
Recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Electric motor switch: OFF to ON
(3) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 5.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
 
STEP 5. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Electric motor switch: ON to OFF
(3) Disconnect the blower motor connector.
(4) Electric motor switch: OFF to ON
(5) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU).
Replace the blower motor.
