STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
(1) caution | To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the electric motor switch to the "OFF" position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). |
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE)
."
(2) Turn the electric motor switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the electric motor switch to the "OFF" position.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2. Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Diagnosis <CAN>, CAN Bus Diagnostic Table ).
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other system DTC.
STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (master) DTC again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the BSW-ECU (master).(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the electric motor switch from "OFF" position to "ON" position.
(3) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the PHEV-ECU. The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction such as a poor connection or open circuit in the CAN bus lines between the PHEV-ECU and the BSW-ECU (master) (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other system DTC.
STEP 5. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other system DTC.
STEP 6. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (master) DTC again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the BSW-ECU (master).(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the electric motor switch from "OFF" position to "ON" position.
(3) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the BSW-ECU (master). The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
