DTC C2333 SAS malfunction

cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

OPERATION
The BSW-ECU (slave) communicates with the steering wheel sensor via the gateway-ECU, the BSW-ECU (master) and the CAN bus lines.

CHECK CONDITION
Electric motor switch is in the ON position.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND TROUBLE JUDGMENT
When the BSW-ECU (slave) receives any of the signals below via CAN bus lines, the ECU sets DTC C2333.
  • Implausible signal from the steering wheel sensor
  • Signal indicating internal error from the steering wheel sensor
  • Invalid steering wheel angle signal for at least 1.5 seconds from the steering wheel sensor

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Improperly installed column switch assembly (integrated with steering wheel sensor)
  • Malfunction of the steering wheel sensor (incorporated in column switch assembly)
  • Malfunction of the CAN bus line
  • Malfunction of BSW-ECU (master/slave)

DIAGNOSIS
1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (master) DTC [Check if DTC C2333 is set in the BSW-ECU (master)].
2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (slave) DTC again.
3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (slave) DTC again.
