DTC C2328 Radar PWR.supply VOLT.(Below 9V)

cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

OPERATION
BSW-ECU (master) power supply is provided from the 12V starter battery via ETACS-ECU.

CHECK CONDITION
Electric motor switch is in the ON position.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND TROUBLE JUDGMENT
When system voltage remains less than 9 volts, the BSW-ECU (master) will set DTC C2328.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • 12V starter battery failure
  • Loose 12V starter battery terminal
  • Malfunction of charging system
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU (power supply circuit system)
  • Malfunction of BSW-ECU (master) (power supply circuit system)
  • Malfunction of BSW-ECU (master)

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB991223: Harness Set
  • MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
STEP 1. Check the 12V starter battery.
Refer to 12V Starter Battery Test .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Charge or replace the 12V starter battery.

STEP 2. Resistance measurement at BSW-ECU (master) connector terminal GND.
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the resistance between the BSW-ECU (master) connector terminal GND and ground.
OK: Continuity exists (2 ohms or less)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Voltage measurement at BSW-ECU (master) connector terminal IG
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Turn the electric motor switch from the OFF position to the ON position.
(3) Check the voltage between the BSW-ECU (master) connector terminal IG and ground.
OK: Battery positive voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (master) DTC again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the BSW-ECU (master).
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the electric motor switch to the "OFF" position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the electric motor switch from the OFF position to the ON position.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the BSW-ECU (master).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
