DTC C2327 Radar module dirt

cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
noteThe radar may not function normally if foreign object or dirt (snow or ice) is adhered on the radar or its surrounding area, or the road condition is bad due to a severe weather (heavy rain or snow). In that case, the system will deactivate the blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert as system protection and display an alert icon on the combination meter.

OPERATION
The BSW-ECU (master) incorporates a radar. The BSW-ECU (master) monitors whether the radar or its surrounding area is contaminated or its beam is blocked by foreign material.

CHECK CONDITION
When all of the conditions below are satisfied:
  • Electric motor switch is in the ON position.
  • BSW-ECU (master) system voltage is at 9-16 volts.
  • The blind spot warning light switch is ON.
  • The vehicle is driven at 10 km/h (6.2 mph) or more.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND TROUBLE JUDGMENT
The BSW-ECU (master) sets DTC C2327 when the system cannot detect a radar precisely for at least 10 minutes or the vehicle is driven for 10 km (6.2 mile) or more with the radar detected poorly.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Bad weather (heavy rain, snow, icing, etc.)
  • Road condition or ambient environment
  • The radar or rear bumper is contaminated by dirt or foreign material, etc.
  • Improperly installed BSW-ECU (master)
  • Malfunction of BSW-ECU (master)

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the radar or the rear bumper for dirt or foreign material.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Clean foreign materials.

STEP 2. Check the rear bumper for scratches or dents.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the rear bumper assembly.

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (master) DTC again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the BSW-ECU (master).
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the electric motor switch to the "OFF" position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the electric motor switch from the OFF position to the ON position.
(4) Drive the vehicle for at least 10 minutes. Then check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the BSW-ECU (master).
A component protection has been triggered due to a bad weather or unfavorable environments. This is not a malfunction.
