DTC C2324 Mirror indicator disconnection

cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

OPERATION
The BSW-ECU (master) energizes and controls the blind spot warning light (LH), which is integrated in the door mirror assembly.

CHECK CONDITION
When all of the conditions below are satisfied:
  • Electric motor switch is in the ON position.
  • BSW-ECU (master) system voltage is at 9-16 volts.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND TROUBLE JUDGMENT
The BSW-ECU (master) will set DTC C2324 when all of the following conditions are satisfied:
  • The blind spot warning light (LH) is energized
  • BSW-ECU (master) terminal AN1 voltage measures 5.9 volts or more
  • BSW-ECU (master) terminal AN1 circuit current measures less than 3.0 mA

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the blind spot warning light within the door mirror assembly (LH)
  • Malfunction of the BSW-ECU (master)
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB991223: Harness Set
  • MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
STEP 1. Perform voltage measurement at door mirror assembly (LH) (incorporating blind spot warning light) connector.
(1) Disconnect the door mirror assembly (LH) connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Turn the electric motor switch from "OFF" position to "ON" position.
(3) Check the voltage between the door mirror assembly (LH) connector terminal of AN1 line and ground.
(1) When the actuator test (Item No. 1) is executed.
OK: 6 volts or more
(2) When the actuator test (Item No. 1) is aborted.
OK: 1 volt or less
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of open circuit in AN1 line between BSW-ECU (master) connector and door mirror assembly (LH) (incorporating blind spot warning light) connector.
Is the check result normal?
Replace the BSW-ECU (master).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between the door mirror assembly (LH) (incorporating blind spot warning light) connector and ground.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check the door mirror assembly (LH) (incorporating blind spot warning light).
Refer to GROUP 51 - Door Mirror Inspection .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 6.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check the blind spot warning light (LH) on mirror.
Refer to GROUP 51 - Door Mirror Inspection .
Is the check result normal?
Repair the door mirror main harness (LH).
Replace the mirror (LH).

STEP 6. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (master) DTC again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the BSW-ECU (master).
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the electric motor switch to the "OFF" position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the electric motor switch from the OFF position to the ON position.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the BSW-ECU (master).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
