DTC C2323 Mirror indicator short to ground

cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

OPERATION
The BSW-ECU (slave) energizes and controls the blind spot warning light (RH), which is integrated in the door mirror assembly.

CHECK CONDITION
When all of the conditions below are satisfied:
  • Electric motor switch is in the ON position.
  • BSW-ECU (slave) system voltage is at 9-16 volts.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND TROUBLE JUDGMENT
The BSW-ECU (slave) will set DTC C2323 when all of the following conditions are satisfied:
  • The blind spot warning light (RH) is energized
  • The BSW-ECU (slave) terminal AN1 circuit voltage measures less than 1 volt.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the blind spot warning light within the door mirror assembly (RH)
  • Malfunction of the BSW-ECU (slave)
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB991223: Harness Set
  • MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
STEP 1. Check of short to ground in AN1 line between BSW-ECU (slave) connector and door mirror assembly (RH) (incorporating blind spot warning light) connector
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 2. Check the door mirror assembly (RH) (incorporating blind spot warning light).
Refer to GROUP 51 - Door Mirror Inspection .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the blind spot warning light (RH) on mirror.
Refer to GROUP 51 - Door Mirror Inspection .
Is the check result normal?
Repair the door mirror main harness (RH).
Replace the mirror (RH).

STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (slave) DTC again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the BSW-ECU (slave).
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the electric motor switch to the "OFF" position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the electric motor switch from the OFF position to the ON position.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the BSW-ECU (slave).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
