DTC C2322 Mirror IND. SHT.to PWR supply

cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

OPERATION
The BSW-ECU (slave) energizes and controls the blind spot warning light (RH), which is integrated in the door mirror assembly.

CHECK CONDITION
When all of the conditions below are satisfied:
  • Electric motor switch is in the ON position.
  • BSW-ECU (slave) system voltage is at 9-16 volts.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND TROUBLE JUDGMENT
The BSW-ECU (slave) will set DTC C2322 when the ECU terminal AN1 voltage remains 5.9 volts or more with the blind spot warning light (RH) deenergized.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the blind spot warning light within the door mirror assembly (RH)
  • Malfunction of BSW-ECU (slave)
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB991223: Harness Set
  • MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
STEP 1. Voltage measurement at door mirror assembly (RH) (incorporating blind spot warning light) connector.
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Turn the electric motor switch from "OFF" position to "ON" position.
(3) Wait for at least 2 seconds, and then check the voltage between the door mirror assembly (RH) (incorporating blind spot warning light) connector terminal of AN1 line and ground.
OK: 1 volt or less
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of short to power supply in AN1 line between BSW-ECU (slave) connector and door mirror assembly (RH) (incorporating blind spot warning light) connector
Is the check result normal?
Replace the BSW-ECU (slave).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check the door mirror assembly (RH) (incorporating blind spot warning light)
(1) Turn the electric motor switch from "OFF" position to "ON" position.
(2) Wait for at least 2 seconds, and then check whether the blind spot warning light (RH) is switched off.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check the AN1 circuit in the door mirror main wiring harness (RH) for short to power supply.
Measure the resistance between the door mirror assembly connector terminal AN1 and each of the other terminals.
OK: No continuity
Is the check result normal?
Replace the mirror (RH).
Repair the door mirror main harness (RH).

STEP 5. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the BSW-ECU (slave) DTC again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the BSW-ECU (slave).
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the electric motor switch to the "OFF" position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the electric motor switch from the OFF position to the ON position.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the BSW-ECU (slave).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
