Inspection Procedure 14: The Charging Indicator does not Flash (Electric Motor Switch is Set to ON).
 
 
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Open circuit and damage in normal charging circuit or loose connector contact.
  • Combination meter assembly is failed.
  • PHEV-ECU is failed.
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
STEP 1. Charging lamp check
  • Connect the charging cable. Without depressing the brake pedal, operate the electric motor switch to turn ON the power supply mode of the power switch. Check whether the charging lamp blinks in the combination meter.
Is the check result normal?
  • Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check special function
Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), select "Test" from the "Special Function" of the combination meter. Execute the following item to check the liquid crystal display.
  • Item 5: Illumination (AUTO)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the combination meter assembly (Refer to GROUP 54A - Combination Meter ).
 
STEP 3. Check of open circuit and in body ground line between normal charging connector and body ground.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 4. Check of open circuit and in CNCT line between PHEV-ECU connector and normal charging connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 5. Check the trouble symptom.
Is the check result normal?
Check the charging cable (Refer to ).
