DTC P15E0: Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration not Completed
 
 
cautionWhenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
DTC SET CONDITIONS
The PHEV-ECU sets DTC P15E0 when the brake pedal stroke sensor fails to learn the neutral position of the brake pedal.
 
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Neutral position of brake pedal stroke sensor not learned.
  • Malfunction of the brake pedal stroke sensor.
 
 

 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose CAN bus line.
Use the scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). On completion, go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check whether the brake pedal stroke sensor related DTC is set in the PHEV-ECU.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC.
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check whether the ASC-ECU related DTC is set or not (Refer to GROUP 35C - Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ).
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC.
Go to Step 4.
 
STEP 4. Brake pedal check.
Refer to GROUP 35A - On-vehicle Service/Brake Pedal Check .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair or replace the brake pedal (GROUP 35A - On-vehicle Service/Brake Pedal Check ).
 
STEP 5. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck the DTC.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3) Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(4) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Repair or replace the brake pedal (GROUP 35A - On-vehicle Service/Brake Pedal Check ).
The procedure is complete.
