cautionWhenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
DTC SET CONDITIONS
The PHEV-ECU sets a relevant DTC when it receives fault information or Airbag deployed information from the ECM via CAN.
 
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • The MPI system fails.
  • Airbag deployed
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check whether DTC (including tentative code) is set in MPI system (Refer to GROUP 13A - Troubleshooting, Diagnosis Chart ).
Is the DTC set?
Carry out troubleshooting for the DTC.
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check if DTC B1499 is set in the SRS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 52B - Troubleshooting, Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ).
Is the DTC set?
Carry out troubleshooting for the DTC B1499 (Refer to GROUP 52B - Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedures, DTC B1499: Air bag deployment determined by SRS-ECU ).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
