DTC U1113: EV Remote CAN timeout

caution
  • If DTC No. U1113 is set, be sure to diagnose the CAN bus line.
  • Before replacing the ECU or combination meter, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
If the signal from EV remote-ECU cannot be received, the combination meter sets DTC No. U1113.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
  • The power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON.
  • When DTC No. U1190 is not set
  • When a wireless LAN device cannot communicate with the EV remote-ECU for at least 2500 ms.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • The CAN bus line may be defective
  • The EV remote-ECU may be defective
  • The combination meter may be defective

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Press the electric motor switch to turn on the power supply mode.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Press the electric motor switch to turn off the power supply mode.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C, Diagnosis ).

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other system DTC.
Check if DTC is set in the EV remote-ECU.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the EV remote-ECU. (Refer to )
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other system DTC.
Check if a DTC, which relates to CAN communication-linked systems below, is set.
  • ETACS-ECU
    • DTC No.U1113: EV Remote CAN timeout
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the EV remote-ECU.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Press the electric motor switch to turn the power supply mode from "OFF" to "ON."
(3) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the EV remote-ECU.
A poor connection, open circuit or other intermittent malfunction in the CAN bus line between the combination meter and the EV remote-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction.)

STEP 5. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the EV remote-ECU.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Press the electric motor switch to turn the power supply mode from "OFF" to "ON."
(3) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the combination meter.
A poor connection, open circuit or other intermittent malfunction in the CAN bus line between the combination meter and the EV remote-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction.)
