DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the diagnostic trouble code.
Check if any DTC is set in the KOS-ECU.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to the OFF before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON.
(3) Check if DTC is set.
(4) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF.
Is the DTC set?
Refer to diagnostic trouble code chart .
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the tone alarm 1.
Confirm whether the tone alarm sounds abnormally under following conditions.
  • The tone alarm sounds when the operation mode is in ON.
  • The sound pattern is "Sound pattern 3".
Is it considered to meet all of the above conditions?
Check the charging port illumination switch (Refer to GROUP 42A, Charging Lid - Inspection ). If there is no fail, intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the tone alarm 2.
Confirm whether the tone alarm sounds abnormally under following conditions.
  • The tone alarm sounds when the operation mode is in ON.
  • The sound pattern is "Sound pattern 4".
Is it considered to meet all of the above conditions?
Proceed to "It is usually a poor normal charge connector signal" (Refer to GROUP 54Da, PHEV-ECU - Symptom Procedure ).
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check the switches.
  • Check that the lock/unlock switch are normal (Refer to GROUP 42A, Door - Door Handle and Latch ).
  • Check all of the door switches and the liftgate switch signal (Refer to GROUP 54A, ETACS - Data List ).
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace a defective switch.
