Code No.U1195 Coding not completed

caution
  • If DTC No. U1195 is set, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • Before replacing the power liftgate control unit, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
If the vehicle information data is not registered to the power liftgate control unit, the power liftgate control unit sets DTC No. U1195.

JUDGMENT CRITERIA
With the global coding counter value "0," if all the global coding data (vehicle information) are not stored, the power liftgate control unit determines that a problem has occurred.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of CAN bus line
  • Malfunction of power liftgate control unit
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the electric motor switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Turn the electric motor switch to the ON position.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the electric motor switch to the OFF position.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C, Diagnosis ).

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the ETACS diagnostic trouble code.
Check if DTC is set in the ETACS-ECU.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the ETACS-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 54A - Troubleshooting ).
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code.
Check again if the DTC is set in the power liftgate control unit.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the electric motor switch from OFF position to "ON" position.
(3) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the power liftgate control unit.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
