COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The ECO mode switch, the ETACS-ECU, the CAN bus lines, or the AWC-ECU is suspected.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Malfunction of the ECO mode switch
Malfunction of the CAN bus line
Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
Damaged wiring harness and connectors
Malfunction of AWC-ECU
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) data list
Check the following data list (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, Data List Reference Table
).
Item No.408: Filler lid Open SW/ECO mode SW
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4

Go to Step 2

STEP 2. Follow the ETACS-ECU trouble symptom procedure "The hazard indicator assembly (ECO mode switch) signal is not received."
Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, Trouble Symptom Chart for Input Signal

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4

Repair it. Then go to Step 3
.
STEP 3. Retest the system.
Does the malfunction occur again?
Go to Step 4

This diagnosis is complete.
STEP 4. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) DTC.
Check whether an ETACS-related DTC is stored in the AWC-ECU (Refer to
).
Is the DTC stored?
Perform the relevant troubleshooting. Then go to Step 5

Go to Step 5

STEP 5. Retest the system.
Does the malfunction occur again?
Diagnose again from Step 1
