DTC B1192 HVAC Blower Motor Step-out
 
 
 
 
DTC SET CONDITION
DTC No. B1192 will be set when the position detection abnormality signal is received from the blower motor.
 
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Entrance of foreign materials into the blower fan/case
  • Malfunction of the blower motor
  • Malfunction of the A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU)
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the blower motor and blower case assembly.
cautionDo not use parts cleaner to remove the foreign materials adhered to the blower motor fin (heat sink) because the cooling grease applied to the connection of the blower motor and the blower motor fin (heat sink) may be removed.
Remove the blower motor, and check the blower motor fin (heat sink) for adhesion of foreign materials.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Remove the foreign materials.
 
STEP 2. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF) to "ON"
(3) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 3.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
 
STEP 3. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Ignition switch: "ON" to "LOCK" (OFF)
(3) Disconnect the blower motor connector.
(4) Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF) to "ON"
(5) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU).
Replace the blower motor.
