DTC C1543 IG voltage too high
 
 
cautionWhenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
OPERATION
Power is supplied to the EPS-ECU from the ignition switch (IG1).
 
 
 
FUNCTION
The EPS-ECU monitors the voltage supplied from the ignition switch (IG1).
 
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
  • Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running).
Judgment Criterion
  • When the IG1 voltage is more than 18.5 volts for more than 5 seconds.
    noteEPS-ECU voltage can be checked by M.U.T.-IIISE with the following item.
    • Item No.35: IG voltage
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
  • The EPS-ECU stops the motor control and illuminates the electric power steering warning light, then sets the DTC.
 
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the EPS-ECU
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB991223: Harness Set
  • MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
    1. Erase the DTC.
    2. Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) to "ON" (Engine running).
    3. If the DTC is not restored, it is intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ). If the DTC is restored, replace the EPS motor (EPS-ECU) (Refer to ).
