DTC U1190 No receive fault detect signal

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

OPERATION
A fault detection enabling/inhibiting signal is sent from the ETACS-ECU to the EPS-ECU.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
  • Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Within 5 seconds).
Judgment Criterion
  • When the microcomputer cannot receive any fault detection enabling/inhibiting signal from the ETACS-ECU, it determines that there is a problem in the system.
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
  • The EPS-ECU sets DTC U1190.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of CAN bus line
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU power supply circuit
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Malfunction of the EPS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
Diagnose the CAN bus line.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN-Related Diagnosis Code Table ).

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to check that DTC is set in the ECM. Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Perform troubleshooting for ECM (Refer to GROUP 13A - Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ).
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
(3) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running).
Is the DTC set?
Replace the EPS motor (EPS-ECU). (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
