DTC C1540 Power supply voltage too high
 
 
cautionWhenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
OPERATION
  • Power is supplied to the EPS-ECU from the fusible link (+B).
  • Power is supplied to the motor from the EPS-ECU.
 
 
 
FUNCTION
The EPS-ECU monitors the power supply voltage supplied from the fusible link (+B).
 
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
  • Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running).
Judgment Criterion
  • When the EPS-ECU power supply voltage (+B). exceeds 19.6 volts.
    noteEPS-ECU voltage can be checked by M.U.T.-IIISE with the following items.
    • Item No.33: System1 PIG voltage
    • Item No.34: System2 PIG voltage
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
  • The EPS-ECU is in motor control output limit state, turns on the electric steering warning light, and sets DTC C1540.
 
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the EPS-ECU
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
1. Erase the DTC.
2. Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) to "ON" (Engine running).
3. If the DTC is not restored, it is intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ). If the DTC is restored, replace the EPS motor (EPS-ECU) (Refer to ).
