DTC C1510 Torque sensor 1 signal malfunction
DTC C1511 Torque sensor 2 signal malfunction

Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

OPERATION

Power is supplied to the torque sensor from the EPS-ECU.

FUNCTION

The signal based on the input torque is output to the EPS-ECU from the torque sensor 1 and 2 for motor control.

Judgment Criterion

This code is set when the EPS-ECU detects that the output signals of the torque sensors 1 and 2 are out of the predetermined range.

Fail Safe, Back Up Function

The EPS-ECU is in motor control output limit state, turns on the electric steering warning light, and sets DTC C1510 and C1511.

DIAGNOSIS

Required Special Tools:

MB991223: Harness Set
MB992006: Extra Fine Probe

STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the data list.

To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).

The steering is in the neutral position.

Item No. 02: Torque sensor voltage2

Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3

Replace the steering column shaft assembly (Refer to

) and then go to Step 2

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.

(1) Erase the DTC.

(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

(3) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (Engine running).

(4) Check if the DTC is set.
