DTC P1798: Malfunction of G Sensor Signal

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
The TCM determines that the system is defective when it receives a G sensor abnormality signal from the ASC-ECU.

DESCRIPTIONS OF MONITOR METHODS
After the system has detected that the power supply voltage is 10 V or more, the engine speed is 450 r/min or more and the vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3 mph) or more, the system receives a malfunction signal from the G sensor for five seconds.

MONITOR EXECUTION
  • Voltage of battery: 10 volts or more.

MONITOR EXECUTION CONDITIONS (OTHER MONITOR AND SENSOR)
Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC stored in memory for the item monitored below)

DTC SET CONDITIONS
Check Conditions
  • Voltage of battery: 10 volts or more.
  • Engine speed: 450 r/min or more.
  • After the following conditions are approved time since normal value receipt: More than 2 seconds.
    • Vehicle speed: 5 km/h (3 mph) or more.
Judgment Criteria
  • G sensor signal: malfunction (5 seconds).

OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
Transmission range: D (Drive the vehicle for 10 seconds or more while the accelerator opening angle is 20% or more).

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of ASC-ECU
  • Malfunction of TCM

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) diagnostic trouble code.
Check if the ASC-related diagnostic trouble code is set.
Is the ASC-related diagnostic trouble code set?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnostic trouble code.
Drive the vehicle at 5 km/h (3 mph) or more, and check again.
Is the diagnostic trouble code set?
Replace the TCM.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
