RADAR CALIBRATION

If the ACC/FCM-ECU is replaced or removed and installed, use the following procedure to perform the radar calibration.
1.
caution
  • Before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
  • Prior to this service operation, check the ACC/FCM-ECU radar for dirt or foreign material. Check the wheel alignment, the tire inflation pressure and load condition, which may cause the vehicle to be tilted. Then correct them if necessary.
Before setting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position (engine stopped).
3. Select "ACC/FCM."
4. Select "Special function."
5. Select "Learning."
6. Select "Start Service Radar Alignment."
7. Start the engine.
8. Press the ACC ON/OFF switch on the cruise control switch briefly (less than1.5 seconds). Then check that "ACC symbol display screen" blinks at 2 Hz on the information screen of the multi-information display.
9. Continue to drive the vehicle at constant speed of 30 km/h (18.6 mph) or more on a straight road until the calibration process is completed.
note
  • Prepare a vehicle travelling in front, and weather should be good so as to check the road condition.
  • Drive the vehicle on a straight road [which radius exceeds 100 m (328 ft)].
  • When driving through a tunnel or bridge, the calibration does not progress.
  • If the ignition switch in "LOCK" (OFF) position is turned to "ON" position, the calibration progresses.
  • If "Stop Service Radar alignment" stops the calibration process, ACC will be controlled with the calibration data that will be obtained just before "Stop Service Radar alignment" stops the calibration process.
10. "ACC symbol display screen" on the multi-information display should illuminate instead of flashing at 2 Hz.
noteIf "ACC symbol display screen" flashes at 1 Hz instead of 2 Hz on the information screen of the multi-information display, check the adaptive cruise control (ACC) system (Refer to ). Then repeat the procedure.
11. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
12. Remove scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
