INSPECTION PROCEDURE 6: A/C pressure sensor system

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If the A/C pressure sensor system is defective, the wiring harness between the A/C pressure sensor and the A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU) is suspected.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINT
  • Malfunction of the A/C pressure sensor
  • Malfunction of the A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU)
  • The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB991658: Test harness set
  • MB991223: Harness Set
  • MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), DTC check.
Recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF) to "ON"
(3) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Carry out the DTC procedures (Refer to ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check data list.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Check that the following service data display contents are normal (Refer to )
Item No.3: Refrigerant pressure sensor
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the A/C pressure sensor.
Refer to .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the A/C pressure sensor.

STEP 4. Check of open circuit in AC/R, SENB, SENG line between A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector and A/C pressure sensor connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Recheck the trouble symptom.
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU).
